Highest residential tower in the world will be built in Mumbai, India. Lodha Group is headquartered in Mumbai will build 117-story skyscrapers in the area of 17 acres (68 796 square meters) in Lower Parel in the heart of the city. Height reaches 442 meters so that would defeat the building residential highest in Australia (323 meters). In this tower will be built also 276 luxury apartments.
This building will become an icon of Mumbai and a symbol for India at the stage of economic and global cultural, according to a statement issued by the Group Lodha.
Group Lodha appointed architects Pei Cobb Freed and Partners with offices in New York, United States, to design a tower residential highest in the world. Office of the architect has designed the Louvre Pyramid in Paris, the Bank of China Tower in Hong Kong, and the John Hancock Tower in Boston, United States.
Between the two acres (8093 m2) and three-acre (12 140 m2) will be reserved as open space. Construction of this building is expected to begin within the next few months and will be completed in 2014.
“Through partnerships with architects, designers, and engineers globally, we aim to bring Mumbai to a landmark that can give an illustration of the spirit of Mumbai is to always fly to higher ground through hard work and strong desire,” said Abhisheck Lodha, director of Lodha.
